Baby bump and finally feeling like a human!

As I near my second trimester, I'm beginning to feel more and more like a human again. Although I never threw up, the nausea that I did have was no fun. My baby already wants to prep me for the lack of sleep he/she will probably plague me with, and he/she loves to eat cheese and bread all day long.

Now that I'm regaining some energy, I can't wait to get back to posting! I've perfected hiding acne(as pregnancy gives you an unlimited supply), and I can't wait to show you all!

We Have A Little Announcement...

DH and I have a baby on the way! I can't wait to document my bump here (and to show everyone how I'm covering up the horrible pregnancy acne)!

Sephora and Urban Decay Friends and Family Event!

Starting on Monday the 13th of October, you can get 20% off on urbandecay.com! That includes the Vice 3, Naked 3, and Naked Basics 2!

As if it couldn't get any better than that, if you know a friend who works at Sephora, they can get you a code for 20% off the ENTIRE online store starting Tuesday, October 16th-Wednesday, October 29th!  So if you're like me and your Too Faced Mascara is drying out, your liquid Eyeko Eyeliner is long dried, and you've been without a foundation for far too long, now's the time to splurge.  You can use sites like reddit.com/r/makeupaddiction to ask around and see if someone will email you the code like they did for me. It IS a one time use code, but word has gotten around this year about the sale, so I'm sure a lot of products will soon be out of stock.

Good luck!

Tamanna Palette FOTD-TUTORIAL!

Starting with a basic foundation. My skin has been peeling lately, so I decided to use something light. I chose Lorac's Porefessional Foundation, NYX's Concealer, and NYX's Undereye Concealer along with Novablush Mattifying Powder.

I used the Anastasia Contour kit to contour my cheeks. I added some dotted lines so you could see how I got dat contour.

I used Coastal Scent's Blush Palette and Anastasia's Contour Kit for highlighting.

Moving on to the eyeshadow. I used Blush from the new Tamanna Palette(Limited Edition, so if you were planning on getting it, you should now!) as my base!

I used Custom as my contouring shade. You can see where I placed it before I blended it.

Another view with my eyes open.

I then used a small amount of Venezia that I blended in A LOT(seriously, if your eyes don't feel raw yet, then you aren't done).

Then I added Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and NYX's Matte Lipstick in Aria! I also used some shades from the Lorac Pro 2 Palette as my highlight, Anastasia's Dipbrow in Taupe, and Novablush's Finishing Powder.

The Difference Mascara Makes!

Excusing the extremely derpy face I'm making above, I really wanted to point out the difference mascara makes! I was getting veggies earlier for my pet rabbit, and I ran into a friend who works at the local farmers market. We got on the topic of makeup, and she expressed to me how when she was scared to wear mascara for a long time because every time she did, people commented on how different it made her look.
I think that people should use makeup to express themselves in a way that makes them feel beautiful, sexy, wild, and free. I don't think makeup has to look a certain way. You like to have bright blue lipstick on? Cool! I miss when I had purple hair! To be completely honest, I felt much more me with purple hair than with my natural blonde! I feel like everyone should have a right to express themselves as artistically as they want! So, as I step off of my soapbox, I wanted to show just how much mascara can enhance your stunning eyes and show how perfect you are inside and out!

Edit: I was using Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, of course :)

Gotta Love Vacation

Being in the middle of ocean is a pretty surreal experience. You're away from everything-everyone. You have almost no contact with the outside world.
Did you know they found a cure for Ebola? Really? We didn't. We were in the middle of the ocean when that happened. Did you know that a massive volcano erupted in Iceland? We didn't. That there was a 6.0 earthquake in San Francisco? We didn't. It felt like God was really on our side through our entire vacation. We were really caught between three different things to do on this exact week for vacation: A cruise to the Caribbean, a week in San Fran to explore the beautiful city, or a week in Iceland for a music festival. No really, that's what we tried to decide on. We would've been in San Francisco the day of that earthquake. We would have been stuck in Iceland during a major volcanic eruption because they weren't letting planes leave until yesterday.

It's incredible how God works. He chose the perfect paradise for us to spend a marital getaway in, and He kept us safe.

Grateful doesn't even begin to describe it.

My Outfit Of The Day!

I am a sucker for cheap clothes. To give you an idea, I've never(and most likely won't ever) paid more than $20 for a pair of jeans. The most of spent I've any item of clothing was my wedding dress which I got on MASSIVE sale for $132 at David's Bridal(I'll post a picture of that another day...).  So, I thought I would do a cheap OOTD because who goes out and spends $200 on a pair of jeans? Not this girl...

Payless Shoes-$9 on sale for 60% off!
Target Cherokee Shorts-on sale for $9(hey, if you can fit in the kids shorts, why not?)
Target Women's Tunic in Forest-$6.58 on sale
Target Sunglasses-$16.99
Betsey Johnson Purse- $39.99 at Ross

Oh, How I Love Weddings...

Normally I don't post pictures of clients whose makeup I've done, but I couldn't help it with this one. Janine and I went to high school together and she approached me earlier this year about me doing her hair and makeup for her wedding. They had the sweetest wedding and she makes a beautiful bride!

Fixes For Your Summer Beauty Probz

Fried, chlorinated hair:

As a girl with purple hair, I totally get what it's like to battle with unhealthy hair every day. My go to shampoo and conditioner are Kenra's Clarifying Shampoo and Ion's Effective Hair Care Treatment. The Ion Conditioner runs at $11.79 and Kenra's Shampoo runs at $18.99 a bottle.

Dry skin:

Let's all admit that dry skin and summer just go together. To get rid of dry, flaking skin, I use a teaspoon of honey on my face and leave it there for about 10 minutes, then I rinse off very thoroughly.

Sunburns:

Every year, no matter how much sunscreen I put on, no matter how much I reapply, I always get sunburnt cheeks. With a burn so intense, who would want to even think about putting makeup on for that hot date you have later? I use Young Living Lavender Oil to ease the burn and help redness fade. My sunburns are gone within hours, and the burn is gone immediately. At $22 a bottle, it is well worth the weeks of enduring painful sunburns.

Covering up tan lines-long term fix

In a Birchbox I received last summer, I got the St. Tropez Self Tanning Mousse. At first, I was super skeptical because helloooo self tan? No thank you, I don't particularly feel like being an Oompa Loompa today. But after getting a REALLY bad tan line that I couldn't cover up with makeup, I decided why not? It couldn't be worse than the tan line. I fell in love. This stuff is incredible! Beginning at $18 a bottle for the 50 ml bottle, this stuff is definitely pricey, but if you just leave it for your tan lines, it should be able to last quite some time.

Covering up tan lines-short term fix

Well, crap. You're going out for a night on the town with your significant other in that cute strapless dress, but you have awful tan lines. There's no covering that up quickly, and you leave in 20 minutes! Just pull out you handy-dandy Diorskin Nude Tan Glow or your Anastasia Contour Kit and your good to go! The cheapest on this occasion would definitely be the Contour Kit at $40 with six colors. If you were looking for something that would definitely do the job right no matter what, Dior's Nude Tan is your go-to. At $52, this doesn't run cheap, but you can definitely pop into Sephora and just dab some on if you don't want to spring for it. Nobody will be any wiser, right?

What's In My Purse?... And How Much Does It All Cost??

Every girl knows that your purse is a magical, mystical wonderland of stuff. The one day you forget something like that tub of body butter you've been holding onto for months and you desperately need it. So why not just keep everything in there always?
These are the basics that are constantly in my purse:

My purse! A cute little Betsy Johnson from Ross-$39.99
My wallet- From Charming Charlie's- $26
Sunglasses- From Target- $16.99
My ID, emergency cash, gift cards to that weird froyo place down the street- $79
Keys- Over $160 to replace
Business cards- $2.30 from Vistaprint
Coconut Water- $0.23
Cherry fruit strip- $0.20
Bag containing my Young Living Oils- From Target- $6.99
All of my YL Oils-Over $400

Whatever random book I'm reading at the time- $10.99
My Benefit rewards purse-Free
Rimmel Nail Filer-$1.99
Rimmel Polish- $4.99
Lorac Pro To Go-$38
Elizabeth And James Perfume Roll On- 250 Sephora Points(free)
Ulta Powder- $12
Beauty Blender- $19.99
NYX concealer-$6
NYX Matte Lippie- $6.99

That brings the grand total of things in my purse to a whopping $882.63! That's an incredible amount of investment put just in the things I carry around all day! There are some things not even pictured like my iPhone which is worth $600 alone or my digital camera which is worth $250! So what do you carry in your handbag every day?

My Favorite Concealers And Why...

I will admit to fully being a concealer junkie. I've tried just about every kind out there, and because of how picky I am, there are very few(in retrospect) that I like. We'll go over my favorites today!
We'll start with the first jar on the left. I am a sucker for cheap makeup, so Nyx is one of my very favorite brands! Nyx Dark Eye Concealer. This concealer is a yellow-tone so as to balance out the sleepy purple circles under your eyes. At $6, I truly don't see any reason that one shouldn't at least try it! P.S., when buying anything from Nyx's website for the first time(or using a new email) if you enter promo code WELCOME25, you get 25% off.

The jar to the right of that is a regular concealer jar. I've used this concealer as foundation before for when I'm going for a more natural look but still want some good coverage. at $5, again, why not try it?

The two jars on the right side are a green concealer(to help with acne and scarring) and a purple concealer(to give you a beautiful, radiant glow). I love to use the green concealer to cover up my acne. As a girl who's always struggled with bad acne during Aunt Flo's monthly visits, I could live off of this. The purple concealer on the other hand is beautiful! It's so soft and creamy. I place it right above my cheekbones where I would normally use a highlight. Again, both of these are $5.

Going to the bottom of the picture, you'll see Kat Von D's Tattoo Concealer. Again, I've used this concealer as a foundation many times! I have one tube at my battlestation and one in my purse for emergency coverups. I've actually given a couple of tubes to friends before for tattoo coverups. You need less than a dime size amount to cover a tattoo the size of your fist. Compared to the Nyx Concealer, this is a bit pricier at $25 a tube, but you won't be disappointed with the incredible coverage this gives!

Last, but not least, my first big girl concealer. I went through what every girl goes through at some point in their lives-their mom buys them Covergirl and you're so excited to have your first "real" makeup. And then you enter the world of Sephora and Ulta, and your bank account becomes royally screwed. I have and always will recommend Urban Decay's 24 Hour Concealer. It's a nice median price at $18, and lasts longer than you should keep it. I have had the same stick for over a year, and it has yet to dry out! It lasts closer to 18 hours than 24(yay all nighters!), but I do have an oily face that soaks up stick-type foundations and concealers.
The coverage with UD's concealer is incredible! I've scribbled on my face with it before and used a sponge to blend out, and it works like a charm. You can also pick a darker shade to use for contouring!

I hope you've found all of this helpful! Please don't forget to enter my latest contest before it's too late!!

Rose Gold Smoked Cut Crease

So earlier today, I had to face my worse fears. Worse than my severe arachnophobia. Worse than my even more severe needle-phobia. I had to go to the dentist and have a root canal a crown. I went on Tuesday to have my teeth deep cleaned and cleaned with a laser, and I was so scared I accidentally bit the poor girl doing the cleaning. They decided I needed nitrous oxide to go through the procedure, and long story short, I was so scared that I fought the nitrous, AND they had to give me the max anesthetics for my size. I was still in some pretty excruciating pain, and my cheek was numb and super swollen for a few hours after.

The plus side about my body fighting the nitrous? It hit later when I got home. I decided(while I was high on nitrous) to go and play with my brand new Too Faced Chocolate Bar. It looks like high-Shea can create a really good smoked cut crease! SO here you are, lovely people of the internet!!

Next up is wisdom tooth removal(all four). Let's see what I can create then!!

Space Inspire Eye Using Electric By Urban Decay

Guys, this palette is just amazing. This look isn't using ANY primer on my eyes, and I didn't have to keep applying shadow over and over again! I am definitely recommending this for anyone who loves color, because UD did really well with this palette!

I'm also using OCC Lip Tar's Tarred. I'm totally in love with black lips at the moment, and I'm going to have to figure out how to incorporate that into my spring makeup somehow.

Prom!

I did my sister's-in-laws makeup for prom and I decided to post a couple pictures!

Amelia wanted a very natural look. I think she looks like a movie star, and would rock a potato sack! She looked absolutely stunning if I do say so myself. On Amelia, I used a combination of Lorac Pro and the Too Faced Chocolate Bar to bring out those beautiful blue eyes.
Product List: Novablush Powder Foundation, Novablush Concealer, Novablush Red Correcting Concealer(coming out soon!), Anastasia Contour Kit, Coastal Scents Blush Palette, Ardell Natural Lashes(trimmed), Too Faced BTS, Anastasia Dipbrow in Blonde, Eyeko Liquid Liner in Black, and NYX Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp!

Olivia wanted a very natural look with some shimmer, so I used the Naked 3 Palette on her to bring out her stunning eyes.
Product List: Novablush Foundation and Concealer, Maybelline Baby Face primer, Anastasia's lovely Contour Kit, Nars Eye Primer, Naked 3, Lorac Unzipped, and Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara! I also did Olivia's hair! She wanted a very simple double braided crown with messy curls on the first layer of her hair with the bottom layer being her perfectly messy, wonderful wavy hair.
